Dr Robert Morton    MBBS, DRANZCOG, FACRRM 

Rob studied medicine at Sydney University and graduated in 1983. Between 1983 and 1987 Rob gained training and experience in General Medicine, Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Anaesthetics in the hospitals around Newcastle. After doing locum general practice work Rob and his family settled in Pambula in February 1988. A Visiting Medical Officer at Pambula Hospital since 1988, working in Obstetrics, Anaesthetics, Emergency Department, Paediatrics and General Inpatient Care.

  


Dr Janet Watterson   MBBS(hons), DRANZCOG, FRACGP, MFM, FARGP Dr Janet Watterson

Janet grew up in Melbourne, but always enjoyed country life. She trained at Monash University graduating Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1987 with honours. Janet did post graduate training at Monash Medical Centre (Clayton) , Alice Springs Hospital (paediatrics and obstetrics) and Tamworth Hospital (anaesthetics). After moving from Sale to Pambula in 2000 she has every plan to retire here and get better at golf !

Janet has a visiting medical officer appointment at Pambula Hospital, for general admissions. She has an advanced rural practice diploma in anaesthetics. With the opening of South East Regional Hospital Janet is working in the Emergency department at times.


Dr John Lancashire   BSc (Hons), MBBS, PhD, ACCAM, FACRRMphoto Dr Lancashire

Originally from the Mornington Peninsula, Dr Lancashire trained in medicine at The University of Queensland and undertook his residency at Gold Coast Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital. After several years working in general surgery, intensive care and emergency medicine, Dr Lancashire completed specialist training in General Practice. He is also an Emergency Medicine Generalist with Visiting Medical Officer appointments at several hospital emergency departments.

In addition to providing comprehensive healthcare to families, he has undertaken further training in skin checks, skin cancer medicine and surgery, and is experienced in chronic disease management, aged and palliative care, men’s health, travel medicine, antenatal care and is also an aviation medical examiner. Dr Lancashire has an internationally recognised research profile and is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Institute for Glycomics, Griffith University.  

Dr Lancashire is committed to working in partnership with patients to achieve optimal health outcomes in a holistic and patient-centred approach.

 


Dr Shauna Cheah  MBBS, BMed Sci , FRACGP 

Dr Shauna Cheah completed her medical degree in the University of Nottingham, UK in 2002. After working in the UK for 5 years she came to Australia. She worked in Emergency and Anaesthetics in Sydney for 2 years, then In 2009, moved to beautiful Merimbula to start a family and begin general practice. 

Dr Cheah obtained the  Fellowship  of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2018 and has interests in women’s health, chronic disease and preventative care.


 

Dr Dilini Pelpola   MBBCh , FRACGP

Dilini obtained her medical degree in Witwatersrand University, South Africa in 2001, her Australian Medical Council  Certificate in 2005 and her Fellowship  of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners   in 2015.

She has worked in the Merimbula area for a number of years and has interest in all aspects of family medicine.

Office Staff

Kirsty Pollard is our office manager. Kirsty has worked at reception since 2006 and took over our office manager role in 2015. She has experience in finance, accounts and customer service.

We have 4  reception staff …  Briody, Lisa, Deb and Sophie.  They help with your appointments, accounts and do their best to welcome you with a smile.

 
 
Nursing StaffSally

Pambula Medical Centre values the role of practice nurse. Our Nurses Sally, Gavin, and Justine   are skilled at wound care, immunisation, health monitoring, ECG, spirometry, ear syringing and  assisting the doctors with procedures. They ensure our facilities and equipment are maintained to the high standards required by accreditation. in 2024  Karen Enright has joined our nursing staff as a diabetes educator.  

 

  Allied Health

Grand Pacific Health are using our rooms for psychologist and counsellor appointments.  Dr Rahman supervises echocardiogram and pacemaker technicians when he visits PMC. Capital Pathology staff collect samples from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm on  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
